About Dr. Wright | Staff

Dr. Wright has practiced ophthalmology in Houston since 1975. As an Eye M.D., he specializes in surgery and diseases of the eye. He earned his undergraduate degree in liberal arts along with pre-med studies at the University of Oklahoma.
He is an honor graduate of Baylor College of Medicine where he earned his medical degree. After 2 years of residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University, he served a tour of duty as a flight surgeon in the United States Air Force. He then completed 3 years of ophthalmology specialty training at Baylor College of Medicine where he was selected as the chief resident in ophthalmology.
Dr. Wright is board certified in ophthalmology, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

- American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery
- Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmology.
He is a member of the voluntary faculty and is clinical instructor, Department of Ophthalmology, Baylor College of Medicine and is former Chief of Staff, Twelve Oaks Hospital.
Dr. Wright participates actively in civic, charitable and religious affairs of the community. He served on the Board of Directors Covenant House Texas and on the Board of Visitors University of Oklahoma College of Arts and Sciences.
Dr.
Wright and his wife, an elementary school science teacher, have two grown daughters. They enjoy time in the mountains of western North Carolina. He also enjoys golf and fly fishing.
